Every Rockstar listing gives the dress code as beachwear, and the photos show it: swimsuits, cover-ups, matching group outfits and plenty of hats and shades.
The practical side matters as much as the look. The deck gets wet with champagne and sea water, shade is limited, and you need ID and cash to check in.
The quick answer
Wear a swimsuit under a light cover-up, with slides or sandals that grip on a wet deck, sunglasses and a hat. Bring photo ID, cash in US dollars for the $10 dock fee and tips, reef-safe sunscreen, a waterproof phone pouch and a fan.

What is the dress code?
Beachwear. A swimsuit, a cover-up or shorts, and sandals are exactly right.
There is no smart or club dress code. Most guests wear swimwear all afternoon, and many groups coordinate colours or outfits for photos.

What shoes should you wear?
Slides, flip-flops or water sandals with grip; skip heels and anything you would mind getting soaked.
The deck is wet from the champagne shower and the swim stop, and you will be dancing on it. Many guests go barefoot after boarding.
Should you wear your swimsuit to the pier?
Yes. Wear it under your clothes so you can jump straight in at the swim stop; changing space on board is limited.
The swim is weather permitting, and life jackets are on board. Bring a small towel and a dry layer for the ride home.

How do you handle the sun?
Reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a hand fan or cooling towel: shade is limited and summer afternoons are hot.
Cabo guests in particular warn about the heat. Reapply after the swim, and drink water between shots.

Frequently asked questions

You can, but they will get wet. Slides or water sandals are more practical on a wet deck.
Do I need a towel?
Bring a small one if you plan to swim; towels are not listed as included.
Should I bring cash or a card?
Cash in US dollars for the $10 dock fee in Cancun and Cabo, tips and extras; one reviewer advises against handing card and ID details over on board.
